Long time no post! I’ve been busy… Here is something I completed recently for the Union for International Cancer Control. The Advocacy team needed a series of icons to symbolise each of the World Cancer Declaration targets. These formed part of a toolkit containing Evidence Sheets, Graphs and ‘How to’ Guides. A selection is shown here and the whole suite is available from the online toolkit on the UICC site.
KIDS CLOTHING BRANDING
Small to Tall was created by two Mum’s who were tired of buying overpriced items that fell apart after a hard day of play. They source excellent quality items overseas and sell them online at affordable prices.
The elephant and mouse logo was a special request by the client and uses my favourite font of the moment – Populaire, by the Brazilian type foundry, Pintassilgo. It’s a hand-drawn, all-caps font with a bunch of very fun ornaments which works perfectly for kid-related branding
The clothesline option is a retro and typographical take on the name – works well don’t you think?

MODERN, CLEAN AND BRIGHT WEDDING INVITATIONS
These fresh invitations were designed in collaboration with the bride (who also happens to be a very good friend). She’s a classy character with a modern style which is reflected in the invitations. We sourced fabulous bright orange envelopes from Amazing Paper in Enmore to tie it all together.
1960s STYLE
I’ve been asked to design an invitation for the St George Illawarra Dragons Grand Final Bruncheon, which celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the 1961 premiership winning team. So, inspired by zedandbee.com.au mood boards, I’ve put this little number together with all things early 60s for inspiration.

WEDDING STATIONERY
Although it’s not usually something I do, when a very good friend announced her engagement and asked if I would design her wedding invitations and stationery, I couldn’t refuse! Tash was after a pretty, romantic, vintage invitation style…I designed two options for her and she chose the first – we’re now rolling it out onto place cards, table numbers, order of service books and thank you cards. Fun!

2012 WORLD CANCER CONGRESS CONCEPTS
Here is an example of concepts created for the Union for International Cancer Control’s (UICC) 2012 Congress to be held in Montreal. The theme was ‘Connecting for Global Impact’ – four concepts were devised and executed across a poster design and website (home and sub page). I’m happy to say the client had a hard time deciding which direction to take!
Concept 1 – Many voices connecting
The idea behind this concept was the convergence of global opinion, portrayed literally through the use of multiple speech bubbles. The colourful imagery used UICC’s secondary colour palette and reinforced the global theme.

Concept 2 – Connect 4
This concept emphasised the ‘connecting’ portion of the theme through the use of vertical o’s inspired by the game ‘Connect 4’. The aim of the game being to ‘connect’ 4 discs horizontally or vertically to win.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Concept 3 – Cells
Ultimately the winning concept, this direction utilised the ‘o’ in each word and a connector to represent cell growth.

Concept 4 - Montreal Metro
This design also references the theme of ‘connecting’, using the Montreal Metro juxtaposed with the UICC branding, resulting in contemporary and attention-grabbing look and feel.
